KUCHING: Eleven members from the World Chinese Badminton Federation (WCBF) paid a courtesy call on Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family, and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah. John Wong, who is one of the WCBF’s vice presidents, said that the visit was part of their itinerary to check the facilities for an upcoming badminton tournament they plan to hold in Kuching next year.

“We will also pay a courtesy call on Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth, and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah soon,” he said.

Addressing the delegates, Fatimah said that although her ministry was not involved in sports, they could plan something for the participants’ families for them to do some activities while in Kuching.

“The participants can bring their families and we will organise some programmes for them that they can do together. “It will certainly be a memorable trip for them” she told the delegates. The courtesy call took place at Wisma Wanita, Jalan Sultan Tengah here yesterday.
