KUCHING: The money contributed to Tabung Harapan Malaysia by the public should be well managed and only for the purpose it was set up, Minister of Welfare, Community Well-being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato’ Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah stressed yesterday.
“The purpose is to help to pay the debt of the country,” she pointed out when asked by New Sarawak Tribune to comment on the Tabung Harapan Malaysia set up by the Pakatan Harapan government.
Tabung Harapan Malaysia was set by the Pakatan Harapan Federal government on May 30 to enable the public to make contribution to ease the nation’s RM1 trillion debt.
As of last Thursday, it was reported that a staggering sum of RM49,190,120.14 had been contributed to the fund.
