KUCHING: Welfare, Community WellBeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Sri Fatimah Abdullah yesterday visited one of the ex-detainees in Cambodia at the Sarawak General Hospital here.
The ex-detainee Mark Rogers is being warded at the hospital for treatment to his weak leg resulting in him not able to walk.
Fatimah had revealed about her hospital visit in her FB posting.
“Visited Mark who is currently seeking treatment of his leg at the Sarawak General Hospital,” she wrote on her official FB Page at 5pm yesterday.
She also wrote that Mark was accompanied by his sister Maria. Mark and Maria are orphans.
She also wrote: “Be strong Mark. We will pray for your recovery.”
Mark was among 47 Malaysians, comprising 40 Sarawakians, three Sabahans and four Malayans, who were detained in Cambodia following a job scam recently.
They were, however, safely brought home, after a successful negotiation between the Sarawak government and Cambodian government on Feb 16.
Fatimah led the Sarawak government delegation together with Santubong MP Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and other officials on Feb 12 to seek their release.
