KUCHING: Upsets did not happen in the 38th Premier Sarawak Cup ITF World Tennis Tour Junior J300 (J1) day 5 action as the favourites in all of the matches in both singles categories marched on into the final.

Boys’ singles final on Sunday  will be an Indian derby as third seed Aryan Shah will take on his fifth seed compatriot Yuvan Nandal for the trophy.

Shah took down South Korean number 16 seed Park Seung Min in the semi final by 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 after three hard fought sets.

Nandal, however, toppled Australian number 15 seed PavleMarinkov by 6-4, 6-2.

In the girls singles category, number four seed VladaMincheva took out the only other seeded player left in the pool, Polish number six seed Zuzanna Pawlikowska, by 6-3, 6-4.

She will welcome the challenge of another Polish player in the final, the unseeded Daria Gorska, who easily defeated her fellow unseeded opponent from Czech Republic, Amy Sucha, by 6-0, 6-1, in the other semi final bout between two unseeded players.
