KUCHING: FC Kokero team sprang a surprise victory after they emerged champions of the KSRRSK-H2 Sports Friendly Cup 2018 football championship an upset favourite team Scarlore FC. The victory allowed FC Kokero to take home a cash prize of RM1,000, the championship trophy and an accompany trophy while Scarlore FC as runners-up winner received a cash prize of RM500 and an accompany trophy.
Meanwhile, the final match which was held on last weekend at Padang C, here, had to be determined through a penalty shootout after both teams tied 3-3 at full time. However, luck was on FC Kokero’s side as they won 3-2 in the shootout to lift the trophy. In the final match FC Kokero’s prolific striker Ahmad Azlan Khan scored two goals while another goal was scored by Nazriq Khalif.
Scarlore FC goals were scored by Mohd Arziwin, Mohd Aminuddin and Awang Rifaat Hisyam. FC Kokero led by Zainal Abidin Piee also won the top scorer award when Ahmad Azlan Khan was crowned joint top scorer with Mohd Khairul Haili from Afifah FC with six goals. FC Kokero goalkeeper Mohd Joenazreen Jolhi was named the best goalkeeper throughout the championship.
Awang Rifaat Hisyam from Scarlore FC team won the best player of the final match award while the fairplay award team went to FC Federal. Each winner received a trophy and an appreciation certificate. KSRRSK president Mohamad Romze Arbi said: “The tournament went on smoothly as planned and I praised all the players for their great sportsmanship throughout the championship.” “Thank you very much to all those involved, particularly H2 SPORTS Global Sdn Bhd for their collaboration with KSRRSK in this year’s tournament,” he said.
