KUCHING: Para-archers have heeded the advice of Minister of Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah to “not fear the opponents”.

Fatimah offered words of encouragement to the athletes after observing their training sessions.

She highlighted the significant effort and commitment demonstrated by both coaches and athletes as they prepare for the Para (SUKMA) Malaysia Games.

“With a well-prepared training schedule, the athletes are expected to perform better than ever,” she told reporters after visiting the archery training ground at SMK Jalan Arang on Thursday (Sept 19).

Fatimah also expressed that the para-archery team aim for a podium finish following a rigorous 10-month training period.

“Let your opponents fear you; this is what we want. Remember, this is an opportunity and a chance for you to showcase your abilities.

“Seize this opportunity to demonstrate your excellence and talent. The fact that you are already a Sarawak athlete is a success in itself,” she encouraged the archers.
