MARUDI: The federal Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) maintains a steadfast commitment alongside the Unity Government to realise the core agenda and programmes of the ministry, says Datuk Rubiah Wang.
Deputy Minister Rubiah Wang stressed that KKDW’s vision, mission and functions are unswerving, aiming to uplift rural communities in various aspects of life, encompassing not only infrastructure but also social, economic, cultural and environmental sectors.
“The objective is to ensure that rural residents continue to reap the benefits offered, contributing to the socioeconomic advancement of rural communities and, consequently, the progress of the nation.”
Rubiah, who is also the Kota Samarahan MP, was speaking at the closing ceremony of the ‘Jom Masuk Kampung’ programme here recently.
“KKDW has achieved numerous successes in fulfilling the aspiration of Malaysia Madani, including projects such as rural and village roads benefitting 3.7 million people, rural clean water supply benefitting 1.8 million people, rural electrification, Projek Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin, rural entrepreneurship programmes, rural digitisation initiatives, and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme involving Mara and Kemas.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Jom Masuk Kampung’ programme serves as a strategic platform for the government, leaders, youth and rural communities to engage with grassroots communities, explaining government strategies, actions and plans.
It aims to provide the latest information on emerging issues and foster close cooperation between KKDW and rural folk.
The event was attended by Sarawak Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil; Baram MP Datuk Anyi Ngau, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau and Kemas Malaysia director Ahmad Kamal Idris Mohamad Nawawi.
