KUCHING: Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin received a courtesy call from Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Sarawak chairman Datuk Sri Victor Hii Lu Thian on Wednesday (March 3).

They discussed issues pertaining to heavy cargo transportation and the proposal to improve road networks in Sarawak.

Lee said the ministry would look into every issue and would present them to relevant agencies for solutions.

“They gave a few suggestions and one of the problems was heavy transportation.

“My ministry will look into the issue and present it to relevant agencies to look for solutions to the problem.”

Meanwhile, Hii said the road systems in Sarawak were important to attract investors, which would in turn help boost the state’s economy.

“We want the ministry to improve the roads here, to help manufacturers to make more products.”

Lee elected a committee member from FMM Sarawak to be part of the Sarawak Transportation Committee.

Present also were permanent secretary to the Ministry of Transportation, Datuk Buckland Bangik; Land Transport advisor Dr Lawrence Tseu Sed Kong and delegates from FMM.
