MUKAH: There will be a free hair cut especially for students on Saturday (Dec 8) from 9 am to 4 pm at three designated locations here in conjunction with back to school programme.
Students who wanted free hair cut are encouraged to come to Sri Pekala hall, Kampung Tellian Tengah multipurpose hall and Kampung Petanak Jaya Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) voluntary patrol scheme (SRS) booth.
The one-day event is being jointly organised by the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth and Women Tellian branch, Saberkas Mukah branch, Mukah Parliament Youth Organisation and Anti-drug Mukah district squad.
It is also in collaboration with RPR CVU Barber Bintulu, Ajakcut Barbershop Mukah, Maxx Barbershop and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Tellian Parents-Teachers Association (PTA).
Newly-elected Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine said among its objectives was to help prepare the students before returning to school, and get them to be in high spirit with their new look.
“At least it will also help reduce the parent’s expenses in their children’s preparation prior to returning to school,” he said on Thursday (Jan 6).
Royston, who is also a youth activist, added the local National Anti-Drug (AADK) office together with the Anti-Drug Squad Mukah district would also organise exhibitions and distribute posters at the respective locations. He also reminded the students to always follow the standard operating procedures (SOP) at the locations to prevent Covid-19 infection
