KUCHING: Many people may not be aware of the benefits that donating blood can offer both to the donor and those in need of blood transfusions.
Despite common fears such as needle phobia or the sight of blood, the advantages of donating are considerable.
Sarawak Tribune spoke with several donors at a Blood Donation event at Farley Mall here today (July 8) to understand their motivations and experiences.

This is my second time donating blood. The first time was in Peninsular Malaysia when I was a soldier. My wife encouraged me to donate, and I plan to continue for the public good.

Donating blood not only saves lives but also offers health benefits to the donor. This is my eighth donation, and knowing that our blood is replenished after donation keeps me motivated.

I donate blood because my cousin suffers from a blood deficiency. This is my 11th donation, and I assure you, it is not as painful as one might think.
