KUCHING: Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) plays an important role in helping the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
According to its Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Felcra has been established in the State for quite a while and has contributed to an increase in the income of the state and nation.
“Felcra role as a developer also helps the participants to gain an more income through their plantation and food sector programme.
“Apart from that, Felcra also plays its role as the agency to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development in implementing various of programmes for the rural population such as the Housing Aid Project (PBR),” said Alexander in a press conference after attending a Felcra ‘Sinar Raya Aidilfitri and Ngiling Bidai Gawai’ 2017 held at Pullman Hotel, yesterday.
Alex noted that the budget for housing assistance is tabled by State Finance Ministry to be channeled to Ministry of Rural and Regional Development for the target group in the rural areas.
He said other than helping to build houses, Felcra is also involved in the implementation of infrastructure projects such as building connectivity roads in the rural areas.
Also present were chief operation officer Zainal Abidin Sharif and Felcra Sarawak general manager Rasidi Ahmad.
