Its assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang officiated at the symbolic traditional miring ceremony for the Nanga Tulie ferry test drive at the Batang Rajang riverbank, near Logpond WTK, Nanga Amang here today.

The main purpose of the ferry test drive was to ascertain the ability of the ferry in crossing Batang Rajang and to enable the project consultant and ferry operator to plan the next steps in completing this project.

Nyabong in his speech said that he and the state government were committed towards improving the development of infrastructure in the Pelagus constituency.

He said RM280 million had been approved under the allocation of the Ministry of Rural Development for the construction of roads from Nanga Tulie to Merit.

There is a need for the ferry service to operate during the construction of the bridge which will be implemented at a later time, whereby two ferry services are planned to be used in Nanga Tulie, in Pelagus and Sungai Melipis, Bukit Goram, Nyabong pointed out.
