KUCHING: About 25 Korean singers, actors, comedians and former footballers will be making their appearances this 29 October at the Seoul Stars – Kuching Football Association (FA) Charity Football Festival.
It will be held at Sarawak Stadium , at 7.30pm and members of the public are encouraged to come as admission is free.
Chairman o f the event , Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said that the programme’s main objective is to raise funds for four charitable bodies while at the same time, promoting more awareness of Sarawak to South Koreans.
Speaking at a press conference held at Sarawak Stadium on Tuesday, Fazzrudin said that the event will be similar to a festival where there will be performances by singers from South Korea including Kim Jung Seo and Solbi, as well as by local artistes between the football matches.
“There will be four teams competing and they are the Seoul Stars FC (comprising of Korean Celebrities and Footballers), Kuching FA (comprising of local leaders and players), Football Association of Sarwak (FAS) and CATS FM. Each game will be played for 15 minutes followed by interlude of performances before another match starts.
Six matches and four performances are expected for the event. So, there will be a lot of football and music.” said Fazzrudin.
“The Chief Minister will be present to witness the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kuching FA and Ji Sung Foundation during the night. The signing of MoU between Kuching FA and Suwon FC will be held prior to the event.” said Fazzrudin.
The Korean celebritieswho will be playing under the Seoul Stars FC are Noh Jihoon, Choi Youngil, Choi Jinchul, Lee Sangyoon, Jung Doohong, Lee Jongsu, Jung Euigap, Jung Junho, Jung Taewoo, Kim Hakdo, Gu Jamyung, Son Myuggi, Park Sangmyun, Joosuc, Kim Dongyoon, Yoon Taeksang and Kim Dongyyun.
