THE final draft report for the Bukit Assek Redevelopment Project Masterplan is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the government through Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) is preparing the final draft report for the masterplan.
“Proposal to build affordable housing is also included in the report,” he said in reply to a question from Joseph Chieng Jin Ek (GPS-Bukit Assek) during the question-and-answer session today.
Earlier, Chieng asked on the completion date of the flats and affordable apartments in Sibu within the Bukit Assek Redevelopment Project to resettle tenants and asset owners before the commencement of re-development in 2026.
In reply to a supplementary question on the status of studies being conducted by consultants for the preparation of the masterplan, Len Talif said research on the Sibu Cloudburst Masterplan study included three stages.
“For stage one it involves flood risk assessment. For stage two, it involves a study on cloudburst and for stage three, it involves a detailed masterplan for Bukit Assek.
“The topographic surveys for stage one, flood risk assessment, have been completed. Meanwhile stage two and stage three studies will be completed by the third quarter of this year,” he said.
