BINTULU: OM Materials Sarawak Sdn Bhd (OM Sarawak) and Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) Bintulu have launched the EduStart Fund, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to support students from low-income backgrounds.

OM Sarawak said the initiative, with the tagline ‘Supporting Your First Steps in Higher Education’,  aims to provide essential financial support to the bottom B40 Students at the onset of their educational journey with IKM Bintulu.

“By offering timely monetary support, the EduStart Fund alleviates the initial financial burden on students.

“This would enable students to focus on their studies, promoting better academic performance and well-being, ultimately supporting their personal and educational growth,” the company said in a statement after handing over the EduStart Fund to the students recently.

Through the EduStart Fund, OM Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment for the community.

“This initiative aims to provide students from B40 backgrounds with the essential resources needed to succeed and excel at IKM Bintulu, empowering them to reach their full potential,” the company said.
