KUCHING: A jobless man who pleaded guilty to causing mischief by damaging his mother’s bedroom door today slapped with a fine of RM3,000, in default three months’ jail.
Magistrate Sharifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali ordered Mohamad Azri Omar to pay the fine after he pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
The 29-year-old had run amok after his mother refused to give him money.
He kicked his mother’s bedroom door and caused her to incur a RM500 loss.
This happened about 10am on November 2 at their home in Lorong Petra 3, Jalan Astana, Petra Jaya.
The complainant (mother) identified only as Mariam lodged a police report as she feared for her safety and that of her immediate family members.
The offender did not pay the fine and will serve three months in jail.
