At the Unimas Stadium, two athletes from Universiti Putera Malaysia (UPM) were crowned as the king and queen of the third circuit (Borneo Zone) sprint championship by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).

With a time record of 10.86 seconds, Muhammad Firdaus Mohamad Zemi won the 100-meter competition today.

Nurul Ashikin Abas has a time record of 13.15 seconds.

With a time of 11.04 seconds, Mohd Rizzua Haizad Muhamad of UPM took home the silver medal. Asyraf Norisham of UTHM finished in third place (11.15s).

Teoh Kim Ling, a UPM student, finished second in the women’s 100-meter race with a time of 13.25s.

Haffira A/p William Johnson, a representative from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, came in third with a time of 13.70 seconds.

According to Dr Hanafiah Ayub, Chief Coordinator of the 2022 Institute of Higher Education Athletics Championship, the organisation of the IPT Athletics Championship Circuit is one of the platforms that can witness more physically capable athletes can display extraordinary actions based on zone organisation.

He stated that this competition offers Borneo athletes the chance to participate, particularly in showcasing their skills.

According to him, the fourth circuit will take place in the East Coast Zone in November, while the Bukit Jalil Stadium will host the grand final circuit in December.
