SARIKEI: A fire broke out at a coffee shop near Jalan Rentap here, yesterday evening (Sept 6), prompting a swift response from the Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba).
The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said the blaze engulfed approximately 60 percent of the ground floor of the coffee shop
Upon arrival, firefighters immediately deployed two hose reel units to tackle the blaze.
The fire was later put under control by 6.48pm and subsequent overhaul work was carried out at the scene to prevent any possible reignition.
No injuries or casualties have been reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
