BINTANGOR: A family of three was abruptly awakened from their sleep when a wee-hour fire broke out in their two-storey terrace house along Jalan Buan here, today.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the residents aged between 34 and 67 in the 3.54 am incident
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintangor station rushed to the scene, about 1 km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found the fire in the living room had caused about 20 per cent damage to the area.
The firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and brought in under control at 4.22 am.
The team completed their operation at 5.15 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are yet to be ascertained.
