KUCHING: A two-room flat at Taman Sri Wangi here caught fire yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at 6.50am and mobilised their nearest team to the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found that the two rooms measuring 24×24 feet were already 50 per cent destroyed.
Led by fire officer Kamri Bujang, the team of 10 firefighters and two police officers, fought the blaze.
With the assistance of the residents, the team managed to extinguish the fire, thus preventing it from spreading to the rest of the flat.
No casualties were reported in the fire.
