KUCHING: Firefighters were rushed to Kenyalang Park Tuesday evening after a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle went up in flames.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson received the distress call at 7.08pm, of a vehicle driven by a female which went up in flames.
A team of 12 personnel from the Padungan Fire Station were later deployed. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle up in flames.
The fire destroyed 80 percent of the vehicles’s engine bay. However, the fire was brought under control to prevent it from spreading to other sections of the vehicle.
No injuries or casualties were reported during the incident and the operation ended at 7.30pm.
The cause and losses suffered is still being investigated by the department’s forensic unit.
