LUNDU: The bedroom of an uninhabited teachers’ quarters at SMK Lundu was destroyed in an evening fire yesterday (July 3).
Firemen from Lundu station were promptly despatched to the scene after they receiving a distress call around 5.40pm.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said no injuries or casualties were reported as the quarters was unoccupied.
On arrival, they found that smoke was coming out from the main bedroom of the quarters and proceeded to put out the fire.
The firefighters extinguished the flames by 6 pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
