BETONG: An unoccupied house at Jalan Semumok here was engulfed by an early morning fire today (June 4).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Betong station were rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call around 6.05am.
On arrival, they found that the house was beyond saving and promptly performed the extinguishing deed.
The team managed to put out the fire using water sourced from a fire hydrant and conducted overhaul works to ensure that the flames were completely put out.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation and headed back to their station.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
