PADAWAN: The dormitory room of factory workers at Jalan Kuching-Serian, Mile 10 here was destroyed in a fire last night.
The incident, which did not involve any injuries or casualties, happened around 12.10am.
Firemen from Siburan station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call regarding a factory fire.
Upon arriving, the team confirmed that only the factory workers’ first-floor dormitory room was on fire, not the entire factory.
Extinguishing works were carried out to douse the flames, however, the room could not be saved as it was completely burned.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
