BALINGIAN: It was a bleak Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021 for the families involved when three houses were completely burnt down in a fire at Kampung Lintang here on Wednesday (May 12).
However, the tragedy did not result in any casualty or injury.
Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said it happened at 9.15am, and all the families involved escaped safely.
He said the fire started at one wooden house at a junction of the village and then spread to two houses nearby.
“The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) fully put out the fire with the assistance of local Bomba volunteers and the villagers,” he said in statement via WhatsApp on Wednesday (May 12).
He added the cause of the fire could not be ascertain and is still being investigated.
Jimmy said the total loss involved could be determined and fire victims were advised to lodge police report.
He revealed the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) and People’s Volunteers Corps were also helping Bomba, which came in two engines.
