KUCHING: A man in his 30s suffered significant burns to his body from a fire that broke out at Kampung Tabuan Tengah yesterday.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the fire that started at 9.48am razed four houses.
Three fire stations: Padungan, Petra Jaya and Tabuan Jaya were deployed to the scene to douse off the flames.
Of the four, two houses were fully destroyed while the remaining suffered 60 per cent damages to its structure.
It is learnt that the victim was in the midst of salvaging his belongings during the incident.
“The victim was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) by the Civil Defence Force (APM),” he said in a statement.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng was also present at the scene.
Apart from the hospitalised victim, no casualties were reported from the incident.
