BAU: A cable fire occurred by the roadside at Kampung Sungai Pinang dockyard yesterday evening (Oct 14).
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that the fire involved the storage site of electrical cables, telecommunication cables, and other items along Pan Borneo highway.
Firefighters from Bau and Batu Lintang stations were dispatched to the scene, which was approximately 30km away, in response to an emergency call at 5pm.
Upon arrival, the extinguishing deed was performed with water sourced from the fire trucks.
The flames were successfully extinguished, and the operation concluded at 7.23pm.
