JULAU: A coffee shop in Pasar Julau at Jalan Janting here, was badly damaged in a fire last night (Sept 11).
The blaze, which broke out at 7.50 pm, caused 80 per cent damage to the premises.
Firefighters from Bintangor and Kanowit stations were dispatched to the scene, about 44km away, after they received an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found the fire confined to the ground floor of a two-storey shophouse. The flames were brought under control at 8.33 pm using water sourced from their fire trucks.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
