MIRI: A fire partially damaged the kitchen of a house in Taman Tunku early this morning (Saturday).
The quick actions of the homeowner and a nearby resident prevented the situation from escalating.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Operation Centre, an emergency call was received at 5.56 am.
Firefighters from Miri Sentral rushed to the scene but found that the fire had already been extinguished by the time they arrived.
The incident caused smoke damage to the kitchen structure of the house.
Authorities are currently investigating the total loss and the actual cause of the fire.
