PADAWAN: An abandoned double-storey building of Padawan sub-district office in Teng Bukap bazaar was destroyed by a fire yesterday.
Siburan fire station chief Nazry Mohamat said his men were despatched to the scene along Jalan Padawan after receiving an emergency call at around 4.15 pm.
“On arrival, the building was beyond salvaging and the extinguishing deed was performed.
“The team managed to bring the flames under control and prevent it from spreading to another building nearby,” he said.
The fire was successfully extinguished at around 5.40 pm and no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
After ensuring that the situation was safe, the team wrapped up the operation and departed back to their station.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
