BETONG: A family of four who were away from their home was left homeless after their house, located at Kampung Debak, Betong, was completely engulfed by fire.
According to a statement by the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), firemen from Betong station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 4.32am today (June 3).
Upon arrival, the team had difficulty extinguishing the fire due to the lack of nearby fire hydrants at the scene of the incident.
After the fire was brought under control, the team did overhaul work and wrapped up its operation at 6.50am.
The residents of the said house were not at the scene as they returned back to their village, hence, there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
