MIRI: An oil palm fruit collecting container was destroyed after it caught fire last Saturday night (August 29).
According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call on the incident was received the next day (August 30) and a team of firefighters of Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Station were despatched to the scene, located about 44 kilometres away.
“Upon arrival, the non-permanent structure container was razed by the fire.
“One of the container workers said that it was already on fire when she reached the scene at 7.30am,” the statement said.
The loss and cause of fire are still being investigated.
