BINTANGOR: A massive fire destroyed part of a 34-door Rh Danggat, Jalan Singba in Sungai Kawi, here this morning (Feb 14).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintangor and Sarikei stations managed to save 17 doors of the building.
As at 10.15am, the team managed to stop the flames from spreading and causing total destruction.
Half of the longhouse was saved by the firefighters.
Overhaul works are still being carried out at the scene.
The authorities have yet to release the number of residents affected by the blaze.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred have yet to be ascertained.
