LIMBANG: Two teachers escaped unscathed after their quarters at SK Batu Danau were destroyed in a fire today (Nov 21).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call at 7.27 am.
Firefighters from the Limbang station, assisted by Pangkalan Madang auxiliary firefighters, were dispatched to the scene, located about 34km away.
Upon arrival, they found the single-storey quarters completely engulfed in flames and beyond saving. Extinguishing efforts were carried out using water from a nearby fire hydrant.
The team managed to bring the flames under control by 7.59 am, and overhaul works were conducted to ensure there was no risk of reignition.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded their operation at 9.25 am.
The cause of the fire and the losses incurred are still under investigation.
