KUCHING: The fire victims in Kampung Bintawa Hulu are being considered for placement in the Darul Hana Resettlement Project Phase One.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the matter had been proposed by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Kampung Bintawa Ulu.

“The JKKK recommended, if possible that the victims and other previous fire victims to be placed in Darul Hana,” he said.

He said this when met while visiting fire victims in Kampung Bintawa Ulu on Saturday (Nov 14) afternoon.

The fire that occurred around 1.30am today destroyed five houses involving six families.

Abdul Rahman, who is also the Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), explained that the plan would be presented to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“Currently plans to relocate the fire victims to the Darul Hana settlement are still under consideration,” he said.
