MIRI: Six firefighters from the Lopeng fire station were rushed to a logistics premises in Senadin here on Wednesday (Oct 7) after a report of a chemical leak.

It was learnt that liquid chlorine stored inside the premises was found leaking from a 68kg cylinder tank.

The chemical is used in water treatment, disinfection and swimming pool sanitation.

Around 12.22pm, six firefighters from Lopeng were dispatched to the scene, said Miri Fire and Rescue Department Zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong.

Cleaning operations ended at 1.20pm.
