BINTULU: Firefighters are monitoring the water level in Data Kakus, a village in Tatau yesterday.
According to a report, a team of seven firefighters from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) have been asked to set up a post to monitor the water level and help any flood victims.
The team led by Bintulu BBP chief Christus Buson, is reported to have been in Data Kakus since yesterday.
Its objective is to gather information, transport the victims to higher ground and transfer them to a temporary flood evacuation centre.
The setting up of the post was in response to floods in the area due to heavy rain in the past few days.
