MIRI: The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) has handed over contributions of logistical equipment to the Fire and Rescue (BOMBA) Station of Lopeng Miri.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said among the logistical equipment provided were 50 units of safety jackets, 10 units of safety floats, and 12 units of raincoats.

“This equipment is to help prepare for any possible flood disaster in the near future,” the Senadin assemblyman said after the handing over of the equipment at the Lopeng BOMBA Station here on Thursday (Jan 13).

Meanwhile, the Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee and rescue agencies, including BOMBA, have activated the Disaster Operations Room.

This includes mobilising all facilities and rescue assets to face the monsoon and flood season.
