KOTA SAMARAHAN: A labourer who was reported missing near Jalan Meranek-Endap, here was successfully rescued by firefighters on Thursday (Feb 4).
The State Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said the 51-year-old man was found by a search and rescue (SAR) team at 11.51am.
“The victim was found about 500 metres from the Fire and Rescue Department SAR operation control centre, and was brought to a nearby health clinic for further medical treatment,” it said in a statement on Thursday.
Hadi Bayan was reported missing while looking for rattan in the area.
His brother-in-law had received a phone call from Hadi who told him he was lost in the forest on Feb 3.
The local villagers had tried to look for Hadi but when they failed to locate him, his brother-in-law contacted the Fire and Rescue Department for help.
