KOTA SAMARAHAN: Firemen had to break into a wet market construction site in order to put out the fire at a public toilets building early today.
According to the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, they received a report of a burning house in Kampung Tambirat Hilir at 12.19am.
“Firemen from Asajaya station were immediately rushed to the scene.
“Upon arriving, they discovered it wasn’t a house, but a building housing the public toilets.
“As the building is located at the construction site of a new wet market in Kampung Tambirat Hilir, firemen had to break into the site to extinguish the fire,” it said, adding the operation ended at 1am.
However, no casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident.
A forensic team has been despatched to identify the source of the fire and quantify the total loss of the properties.
