SARIKEI: A cat trapped above the window of a building was rescued by a Fire and Rescue (Bomba) team in a special operation at Jalan Hua Tai, this evening.
Sarikei Fire Station chief Mahmudin Narudin said the team rushed to the scene after receiving a call on the incident at 6.03pm.
“Responding to the call, a team was despatched to the location and they found a cat above a window of a building.
“We set up a ladder of three extensions on the wall of the building before saving the adorable cat,” he said.
Mahmudin added that the special operation started at 6.06pm and ended nine minutes later. The cat was believed to be trapped while playing around before it fell on the window.
Meanwhile, a resident who only wanted to be known only as Jamal, 18, was touched by the firefighters’ willingness to risk their own safety to save the cat.
“Without the Bomba team, the cat would be trapped for a longer period and perhaps died of starvation on the window,” he said.
