KUCHING: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) is always ready to face any emergencies, especially during the movement control order (MCO) period.
According to Bomba Kuching zone fire chief Senior Superintendant Henderi Ardimansyah, the department will continue to carry out its duties and be prepared 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure that its personnel can act in the event of an emergency.
“However, we hope that there will be no disaster and fire incidents which could cost lives and properties during the MCO period,” he said after a handover ceremony of food and drinks aid at Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, yesterday.
He said the donation of food and drinks by the Association of Malay Importers and Traders of Motor Vehicles Malaysia (Pekema) Sarawak could lessen some burden for the firemen.
“Even though the MCO period is extended, we can still find food supplies such as rice and vegetables from supermarkets around here,” he said.
Henderi stated that over the extension period of the MCO, he hoped that the public would continue to abide by the orders of the authorities to stay indoors.
