Acting Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, said they received an emergency call at 2.49 pm saying a female hiker sustained leg fracture after she slipped while walking on the wooden foot bridge heading towards the caves.

A team of Batu Niah firemen were immediately despatched to the scene to rescue the tourist, aged 29.
