MIRI: A fire broke out at a double-storey shop lot in Piasau today, prompting a swift response from the Lutong Fire Station.

Led by its chief Henry Jugah, a team of firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving a distress call about the incident around 10.45 am.

The firemen are currently battling the flames at the location.

In the midst of their efforts, the team rescued a pet cat trapped on the first floor of the building.

The cat was safely brought out of the structure by the firefighters.
