MIRI: Firemen from the Lutong fire station (Bomba) responded to a distress call at Jalan Curtin University here on Friday night, assisting a woman in unlocking her car.

The station chief, Henry Jugah, said that the 27-year-old car owner contacted the station at approximately 7.01 pm after realising that her car doors had automatically locked.

She had earlier parked the vehicle by the roadside to visit her orchard in the vicinity and discovered the locked doors upon her return.

The woman, who was alone at the time of the incident, promptly sought assistance from the Lutong Fire station.

The firemen arrived at the location by 7.11 pm and initiated their operation using specialised tools, successfully unlocking the car doors in less than 20 minutes.
