MIRI: Firemen’s quick response saved a house from complete destruction.

The State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre (Bomba) received an emergency call at 11.42 pm last night from members of the public regarding the fire.  

Firemen rushed to the incident located at Kampung Padang Kelulit, Bekenu, about 25 kilometres away from the Batu Niah station.

The operation commander said in a statement that the fire had destroyed about 70 per cent of the semi-permanent house when the firemen arrived.

The firefighters then immediately began to put out the fire.

They were able to control the flame by 12.30 am and complete their operation at 1.30pm.  

No injuries or casualties were reported in the fire which is still under investigation.
