KUCHING: Fire burnt through a single-storey furniture factory at Jalan Penrissen Mile 7th, Kota Sentosa at dawn yesterday.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 5.40am and immediately dispatched firefighters from the Batu Lintang and Tabuan fire stations to the scene.
The fire was brought under control at 6.40am.
No injuries or casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Separately, a government office (Felcra Everherald) was razed to the ground at Jalan Tanjung Assam, Betong.
The fire department knew of the fire at 2.15pm when a member of the public ran to the station to inform firefighters.
The fire was brought under control at 4pm but the single-storey none-permanent structure was beyond saving.
No injuries or casualties were reported.
