SPAOH: The Spaoh Community Hall was abuzz with excitement as 21 educational agencies across the state gathered for the first-ever Bukit Saban Education Fair.
Specifically tailored for Form 5 and Form 6 students in Betong, the fair sought to offer them a wider perspective on educational opportunities.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that the school-aged youth plays a great role in meeting the government’s aspirations under Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“The youth’s role is crucial to become highly skilled individuals by the year 2030,” said Uggah after officiating at Bukit Saban Education Fair here on Saturday (Sept 2).
Echoing similar sentiments, Betong MP Dr. Richard Rapu stressed on the importance of skill-based learning.
“Sarawak is lucky. Our Premier is proactive in ensuring economic growth for its people. This is evident from the many high-skill training centres set up for our youth, ensuring better job opportunities and enhanced lifestyles,” said Dr. Richard.
During the fair, Uggah, accompanied by Dr. Richard, visited various exhibition booths.
Institutions present included Laila Taib College, Malaysia Building Academy Sarawak Region, ICATS University College, Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS), Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and many more.
