KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Community Action Programme (CAP) of the Information Department (Jabatan Penerangan or JaPen) was first carried out in the state yesterday (Sept 12).
State JaPen director Swady Guliling said CAP is a platform for departments to enhance communication and connection networks together with the local community as well as strengthening cooperation with other government agencies.
“This matter also provides an opportunity to exchange views with experts in related fields.
“This CAP programme is also expected to be a medium to facilitate us to convey the needs of the people and then get the appropriate explanation from the relevant parties,” he pointed out.
He said this in his speech read by JaPen Communication Service and Community Development Division senior assistant director Ajes Tuah at the Community Action Programme (CAP) and the Samarahan District Merdeka@Komuniti programme at Kampung Stakan Melayu here on Saturday (Sept 12).
He added that in an effort to further enliven the National Month celebration and the ‘Kibar Jalur Gemilang’ campaign, the department also designed various activities via Merdeka@Komuniti programme throughout Malaysia.
“It is a field trip programme and involves the local community in JaPen’s efforts to market information on policies, initiatives and achievements.
“As of Sept 9, a total of 55 Merdeka@Komuniti programmes have been implemented in the state involving three programmes in each parliamentary constituency,” he said.
In another development, he revealed during the celebration of the National Month and the coming Malaysia Day, various programmes had been organised by JaPen such as Info on Wheels (IOW) Merdeka, adding it continued to run smoothly.
“IOW Merdeka is held from July 16 to Sept 16, which aims to spread the message of nationhood as well as enliven the Jalur Gemilang Campaign 2020.
“As of Sept 9, JaPen Sarawak has implemented a total of 517 IOW Merdeka programmes involving 612 locations throughout the state,” he said.
The CAP programme and the Samarahan District Merdeka@Komuniti programme was officiated at by Stakan assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohammad Ali Mahmud.
Also present were Samarahan district officer Anuar Da’an, Samarahan district information officer Shamsuddin Abdul Latif and Kampung Stakan Melayu chief Paidi Kassim.
