KUCHING: A new year brings a series of public lectures – this time they are sponsored by Nippon Paint.
The first of four lectures takes place on 5 May, (Friday) at 6.00pm at the Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 Auditorium (Jalan Pending).
PAMSC (Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia Sarawak Chapter) is very fortunate to have industry partners who share and support their vision to raise awareness about good design.
Nippon Paint has a long track record of nurturing design in Malaysia and the region, especially with its Asia Young Designer Award (AYDA).
One of the winners of this award will be speaking at Friday’s lecture – his name is Hanis Abdul Razak from NKWA Architects. He will be talking about his work and the design thinking behind his innovative design projects.
The second speaker is from Kuching; Ar. Nurina Matnor from Arkitek Nurina Matnor who has a local practice. She is responsible for several high profile projects in town, including the pedestrian canopy at India Street.
PAMSC invites local architects to talk about their work because it believes that the Sarawakian public should be aware of their local home-grown design talents.
Its keynote speaker is from Singapore; The Joo Heng is the principal of a well-established design firm. Through his projects, he will demonstrate how he develops imaginative and innovative solutions to conventional design problems. His talk is expected to be very inspiring, especially for students wanting to study architecture and other design related fields. There is a Question and Answer session after every speaker.
The lecture is free for everyone, they are requested to register online as there are limited seats. They may do so at info@pamsc.org.my
